Bail & Detention
People who have arrived illegally into the UK, or who failed to leave the country when their visa expired, or who have had a claim for asylum turned down can face detention in an Immigration Removal Centre (IRC), before eventually being deported from the UK.
Refugee and Asylum
An ‘asylum seeker’ is someone who is awaiting a decision on his asylum claim in the UK. If your claim is successful, you are then recognised as a ‘refugee’. The right to claim asylum is governed by International Law and the UK Government is obliged to provide protection to any person meeting this definition.
Long Residency
If you have completed 10 years continuous and lawful residence in the UK, you may apply for settlement (indefinite leave to remain) under the long residency route. Settling (known as a indefinite leave to remain) means you can stay in the UK without any time restrictions.
Challenging Decisions & Judicial Reviews
Following recent significant changes to UK Immigration Laws, it has thrust the issue of Appeals into the forefront of attention of those making immigration-related applications. With the removal of Appeal rights for many types of Applications, it has become even more important that Applications are properly and professionally prepared to maximise the initial chance of success.
